thenotetakers.com is a set of articles you can read without an account. There are no sign-ups, forms, comments, newsletters or ads on the site, so it never asks you for personal information. This page explains what is collected when you visit, and by whom.

## Google Analytics

Every page loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-4MZ4ZMW5N5) with Google’s standard setup. It shows which pages are read and roughly how people find them. Google Analytics sets cookies such as `_ga` in your browser to tell visits and sessions apart. Google explains how it handles that data in [How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services](https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).

You can block cookies in your browser settings or install the [Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on](https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). The site works the same either way.

## Crawler logging

When a request comes from a known crawler, identified by its user agent, the server records the visit in PostHog. The list covers AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, plus search crawlers such as Googlebot, Bingbot and Applebot. Each record holds the crawler’s name, the page path, the full user agent string, the site’s host name, and the request’s referer and accept headers. No IP address is included, and no person profile is created. Requests from ordinary browsers don’t match the list and are not logged this way.

## Hosting and fonts

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes each request, including your IP address, in order to deliver the page.

The fonts are downloaded when the site is built and served from thenotetakers.com itself, so your browser makes no requests to Google Fonts.

## What the site doesn’t do

The site does not sell personal data. Apart from Google Analytics and the crawler logging described above, there are no other analytics or tracking scripts.
