The Notetakers

Best Zapier alternatives in 2026: graded by integrations

Activepieces is the pick. All seven tools here grade 3 of 3 for HubSpot, because each has a native action that updates a record. Activepieces, IFTTT and n8n also tie on plan and price, at $0 on a free plan or edition, and alphabetical order puts Activepieces first. Its Free plan includes the HubSpot piece and 1,000 credits a month, and a run costs one credit however many steps it has.

Best Zapier alternatives in 2026: Activepieces is the pick

Activepieces is the pick under this page's grade, then plan, then price order. The grade does not separate these tools, so plan and price set the shelf.

How we grade

A grade belongs to one tool and one target app. This page grades every tool for HubSpot, so the entries compare on the same job. Grades count automatic writes only.

Grade Meaning
0 None: nothing reaches HubSpot from the tool
1 Only through a webhook or HTTP call the team builds and maintains
2 The tool's native connector logs a note, activity or task on a record
3 The tool's native connector writes values into fields on a record

Entries are then shelved in this order:

  1. Depth grade, highest first.
  2. Plan required, lowest first: free, then the entry paid plan, then higher plans, then Enterprise or sales only.
  3. Price: the lowest list price for that plan, with its billing period.

A tie after all three steps goes alphabetical, which says nothing about which tool is better. An entry with a published price shelves ahead of one without. "Not documented" never counts as "no". Each entry prints its own "Last checked" date, and prices, limits and features link to the vendor's own pages.

Zapier alternatives at a glance

Shelved by depth grade, then plan required, then price. Last checked: Nov 5, 2026.

Shelf Tool Grade for HubSpot Plan required Price
1 Activepieces 3 Free $0
2 IFTTT 3 Free $0
3 n8n 3 Community edition, self-hosted $0
4 Power Automate 3 Premium $15.00/user/month paid yearly
5 Workato 3 Standard Quote
6 Make 3 Not documented See Make pricing
7 Tray.ai 3 Not documented "Sized to your needs"
Baseline Zapier 3 Not documented Free, or Pro from $19.99/month billed annually

Workato names an edition but prints no list price, so it follows Power Automate. Make and Tray.ai name no plan for HubSpot and tie, so they follow in alphabetical order. Zapier is the baseline, so it has no shelf.

1. Activepieces

Last checked: Nov 5, 2026.

Activepieces is grade 3 for HubSpot contact updates on Free, $0. "Update Contact" writes to a contact, and "Create or Update Contact" works from an email address. The HubSpot piece has 45 actions and 24 triggers, and it is included on every plan.

Plans: Free is $0 with 1,000 credits a month and up to 5 users. Plus is $20 flat per month with 10,000 credits. Team is $200 flat per month with 50,000 credits and 25 users. Ultimate is custom. A run costs one credit however many steps it has. An AI step costs 2, 10 or 20 credits by model.

The core is open source under the MIT license, and you can run it on-prem. The MCP server is on every plan.

  • Best for: a free plan with the HubSpot connector, agents and MCP included.
  • Limitation: The catalog is 775 pieces, and its SOC 2 program is "in progress". The pricing page also conflicts on Free credits: one row says they reset daily, and its FAQ says "a fresh 1,000 credits every month".

2. IFTTT

Last checked: Nov 5, 2026.

IFTTT is grade 3 for HubSpot ticket and deal stage updates on Free, $0. "Update a ticket" changes a ticket's subject, description or priority. The HubSpot service lists 7 triggers, 5 queries and 9 actions.

Plans: Free is $0.00/month with 1,000 credits. Starter is $2.09/month billed annually ($25.08) with 5,000 credits. Pro is $5.49/month billed annually ($65.88) with 20,000 credits. Pro+ is $13.99/month billed annually ($167.88) with 100,000 credits. The Free card lists "All services & integrations". The AI Agent can search and run actions across connected services from a prompt.

  • Best for: the lowest published paid price here.
  • Limitation: Free checks polling triggers every hour. Credits per run are not documented, and the contact action does not list which properties it writes.

3. n8n

Last checked: Nov 5, 2026.

n8n is grade 3 for HubSpot deal updates on the self-hosted Community edition, $0. The HubSpot node has update operations for contacts, deals, companies and tickets. The $0 covers the Community edition, which you run on your own infrastructure.

n8n Cloud: Starter is €20/month billed annually for 2.5K executions. Pro is €50/month billed annually for 10K. Business is €667/month billed annually for 40K and is self-hosted only. Enterprise goes through sales. An execution is one run of the whole workflow, however many steps it has. The n8n integrations page says 2,000+ and also lists 2622; its features page says 500+ out of the box.

More detail is in the n8n review and Make vs n8n.

  • Best for: self-hosting with a price per workflow run.
  • Limitation: you run the server. The license covers "your own internal business purposes or for non-commercial or personal use", and Community excludes SSO, projects and sharing.

4. Power Automate

Last checked: Nov 5, 2026.

Power Automate is grade 3 for HubSpot contact updates on Premium, $15.00/user/month paid yearly. The HubSpot CRM connector has "Update a contact" and "Update a deal" actions.

Plans: Premium is $15.00/user/month paid yearly. Process is $150.00/bot/month paid yearly. Hosted Process is $215.00/bot/month paid yearly. Microsoft notes that shown prices may vary by currency, country, region and organization. Premium carries 40k actions per user per day and 5000 AI Builder credits a month. Copilot Studio, a separate product, builds agents.

  • Best for: teams that want agents and flows in Microsoft's stack.
  • Limitation: the HubSpot connector is in Preview, and its listed publisher is Troy Taylor, Hitachi Solutions, not Microsoft. It needs Premium and allows 100 API calls per connection per 60 seconds.

5. Workato

Last checked: Nov 5, 2026.

Workato is grade 3 for HubSpot record updates on Standard, priced by quote. The HubSpot connector has "Update record", and the actions docs add "Update records (batch)". Workato says its 1,200+ connectors are "included out-of-the-box for every user", and Standard is the first edition it lists.

Editions: Standard, Business MCP, Enterprise MCP and Workato ONE, each by quote. Standard includes SAML SSO, MFA and role-based access control. Pre-built MCP servers start at Business MCP, and Agent Studio is on Workato ONE. Usage counts in Tasks or Credits, depending on the plan.

  • Best for: SAML SSO and role-based access control from the Standard edition.
  • Limitation: no published price, and Standard includes 1 concurrency. HubSpot triggers and actions depend on your HubSpot account privileges.

6. Make

Last checked: Nov 5, 2026.

Make is grade 3 for HubSpot contact updates; the plan required is not documented. The HubSpot CRM app has "Update a Contact" and "Create or Update a Contact". The integration page counts 122 modules: 13 triggers, 86 actions and 23 searches.

Plans: Free has 1,000 credits a month, and the page also names Core, Pro and Teams. Most actions use 1 credit, and routers and error handler modules use none. This entry states no paid price, so check Make's pricing page for current amounts. AI Agents are "Available on all plans", and MCP is included in all plans.

For the head-to-heads, see Zapier vs Make and Make vs n8n.

  • Best for: routers with rollback-style error handling and AI Agents on all plans.
  • Limitation: a HubSpot Super Admin must pre-approve the app, and HubSpot webhooks need a HubSpot developer account. Most API endpoints are on paid plans.

7. Tray.ai

Last checked: Nov 5, 2026.

Tray.ai is grade 3 for HubSpot contact updates; the plan required is not documented, and its plans print no list price: "Sized to your needs". The HubSpot connector has update operations for contacts, companies, deals and tickets. Tray's pages name no plan gate for it.

Plans: Pro, Team and Enterprise are each "Sized to your needs", with 3 workspaces, 20 workspaces and unlimited workspaces. A trial gives 30 days and 1 million Tasks. A separate Tray Helix Builder Edition starts at $50 a month, and Tray does not tie it to the HubSpot connector on these pages, so it does not set this shelf. A Task is one operation: the trigger, each connector step, and each pass through a loop or boolean. Retries are not charged.

  • Best for: the largest stated catalog of the seven, at 5,700+.
  • Limitation: no list price for these plans. SSO is an add-on on Team and included on Enterprise.

Zapier, the baseline

Last checked: Nov 5, 2026.

Zapier is grade 3 for HubSpot contact updates, with Update Contact among 95 published operations. Its pages do not say whether HubSpot is a premium app, so the plan required is not documented.

Plans: Free has 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps. Pro starts at $19.99/month billed annually, or $29.99/month billed monthly, for 750 tasks. Team starts at $69.00/month billed annually for 2,000 tasks. Enterprise goes through sales. Triggers, Filter steps and Paths steps use no tasks.

Pipedream is not shelved. Its docs say Workflows will shut down on March 31, 2027, and it no longer accepts signups for Workflows.
